What you need to know about this blog.

First and foremost, I would like to welcome you to our blog.

I would like to give a little bit of my vision for this area of the website before I begin with my main post this weekend.

My vision for Lotus ABA Services blog is a place for professionals, parents, and ALL people to share and learn from one another.

Here are our rules:

  1. We will not share any curse words, but we will allow you to keep it real. Try to keep it clean and bleep yourself out if needed.

  2. We do not hold any responsibility for ANY consequence, legal/personal. These are your words and you give us permission to share by submitting this form.

  3. The rules in regards to content are that the post must contain one of these content themes: Applied Behavior Analysis, learning about disorders (Autism, ODD, etc), Self-care, Allied Therapies, Growth as a person (parent or otherwise), struggles as a parent, culture education, etc.

  4. We reserve the right to deny a post, FOR ANY REASON.

  5. You will receive a notice via email when your post is being reviewed. You will receive an acceptance email, a denial email, or a feedback email.

  6. Have fun with it, keep it real, keep it to a post size that you would be comfortable reading, and do not be afraid to dig in! If you do not want your name shared, your post will say anonymous.

I would love for us all to get differing points of view and learn from one another. I ask that if you comment on another post, please be respectful and if you disagree and would like to discuss more, reach out to myself or the poster privately. I will help to make this interaction occur, as disagreeing discussions are most of the time even more important than agreeable discussions, if needed.

How to Submit a Post!!!

To stay up to date with posts, please sign up on our website. Also, if you would like to submit a post, please use the form on the website or request it via email and I can send it. Your submission does not need to be a college level written piece, although it can be if you want. I would like us to share as much as possible, as real as possible.

Today I will leave you all with this,

“Sometimes poor behavior is a bad execution of good intent.” Stephen Covey

Not every behavior that someone displays that you feel is “poor” or “negative” equates to that person being a “poor” or “negative” person. How can I say this? Let’s keep in mind that behaviors are actions and they are learned through experiences in our lives (our environment). Sometimes you are missing out on someone who just needs to learn a replacement behavior for that “poor” behavior. Can you take a step out of your emotions and change your behavior to one that promotes education and learning. Can you change your behavior to help others grow and move away from those “poor” behaviors? I would love to hear your thoughts on this?

Hope you all have an awesome week and I look forward to learning and growing with you all in the future!!

-Tara
